

Lynette was born August 3, 1926 in Statesboro, Georgia the daughter of the late Lovin Morgan Nesmith and the late Ruth Nesmith. After graduating from high school she went to Jacksonville, Florida and meet the love of her life, the late Wendell Lee Collum. They were later married and were blessed to have four children. In 1973, Lynette and Wendell moved their family to Brunswick from Jacksonville. She was a computer operator was employed with Stockton, Whatley, And Davin. Later, she went to work with Barnett Bank and then retired from United Community Bank. Lynette was active in her community and was an active member in the Eastern Stars. She later became a Volunteer at Southeastern Georgia Health Systems in the Gift Shop. She was also a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Brunswick.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her late husband, Wendell Lee Collum; and a son David Paul Collum. Left behind to cherish her memories is her daughter, Linda Todd (Durwood) of Brunswick, GA; two sons, Tim Collum (Theresa) of Brunswick, GA and Larry Collum (Karen) of Weaverville, NC; five grandchildren, Robin Prosser (Shane), Jenne Leppard (Brian), Kayce Finan (Justin), Travis Collum (Danielle), and Lex Collum (Kelli) all of Brunswick, GA; a sister, Nan Dewitt of Atlanta, GA; two brothers, Inman Nesmith and JD Nesmith both of Statesboro, GA. Ten precious great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Lynette was a kind hearted and vibrant lady. She was always a generous person and willing to help others. She loved to spend time with her family and friends. She also loved to travel with her late husband. Lynette was an avid reader and a wonderful cook. She also loved to laugh and was always willing to share a funny story with her friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her family will have many fond memories to cherish for years to come.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 AM on Friday, November 3, 2017 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. A Funeral Service to honor her life will begin at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 3, 2017 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Dr. Don Spires officiating the service. Burial will be at Brunswick Memorial Park Cemetery following the service.
