Mamie Jo Keene Heick

Mamie Jo Heick, 89, of Brunswick, GA entered into eternal rest on Monday, July 6, 2015 in Nahunta, GA. The family will receive friends at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home Wednesday, July 8, 2015 from 6 – 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held Thursday, July 9, 2015 at 10:00 AM in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. John Harris officiating. Interment will follow the service in Chapel Park Cemetery. Pallbearers serving during the service are Timothy Wilson Jr., Michael Heick, Jackie McCosker, Lawrence Harry, Steve Taylor,and Willie Bullard.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Ahmed Elsharkaw and staff. Also, Dr. Kevin Brooks and staff.

Ms. Heick, known as Nanny to her loved ones, was born in Laurens County, but resided most her life in Brunswick, GA. She was the daughter of the late James and Mamie Keene. She was a loving mother, grand-mother, and great grand-mother. Ms. Heick also enjoyed the outdoors and working in her flower garden.

She was preceded in death by her husband Albert Earl Heick. Ms. Heick is survived by her daughters; Barbara Dennis (Michael) of Orlando, Fla., Bernice McComack of Nahunta, GA, and Beverly Taylor (Stevie) of Brunswick, GA; one son Albert “AL” Heick (Gail) of Brunswick, GA; a grand-daughter Sharon Harry Dennis (Lawrence) of Brunswick, GA; three grand-sons Jackie McCosker of Nahunta, GA, Michael Heick of Brunswick, GA, and Timothy Wilson Jr. (Charity) of Saint. Simons Island, GA; two great grand-daughters Amelia Marie and Annabella Mae Wilson of Saint Simons Island, GA. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
