Manuel was born in the Dominican Republic to parents Manuel Vicente Troche and Yocasta Troncoso Troche. In high school, Manuel enjoyed wrestling. Throughout his life, he loved being outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also liked to tinker with things and could build most anything!
Manuel served honorably in the US Marines with the rank of Sergeant. Although he spent his life in law enforcement, he also served as a volunteer fire fighter while living in Florida. His law enforcement career took him too many places, and the family began to call Glynn County home in 2008. Manuel retired from FLETC earlier this year where he worked as a supervisory instructor with the Bureau of Prisons.
Manuel was a loving father and grandfather, and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann Troche of Brunswick; two sons and daughters-in-law, Manuel V. Troche, Jr. (Sheila) of Ocala, FL and Andrew Troche (Anne Marie) of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; four grandchildren (and one on the way!), Cheyenne Troche, Manuel V. Troche, III, Jackson Thomas Troche and Victoria Anne Troche; his mother and step-father, Jo Becker (Al) of Tarpon Springs, Florida; three sisters, Rosa Romero of Horsham, Pennsylvania, Patricia Fleming of Philadelphia and Chrissy Becker of Philadelphia. He was preceded in death by his father, Manuel Vicente Troche and a brother, Angelo Becker.
A gathering of friends and family will be held Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.
The funeral service with military honors will be Wednesday at 4:00 pm in the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Reverend Tim Brown officiating. A reception will follow.
For those wishing to make a memorial contribution, the family suggests donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital www.stjude.org/donate or the VA Medical Center of your choice.
