Maria Angela Smith, 85, of Brunswick, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2013. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 10AM in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Father Wilfrid Logsdon officiating.
Maria was born in Milan, Italy, December 9, 1927 to the late Luigi D’Osualdo and Teresa Lazzari. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church and also a member of a bowling league in the 1970’s; she loved to bowl. She also loved gardening; she had a green thumb and grew the prettiest amaryllis flowers. She enjoyed playing the piano as well.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother: Giannino D’Osualdo.
She is survived by her husband: Lawrence Smith of Brunswick; one daughter: Elizabeth Smith of Stone Mountain, GA; two sons: Anthony L. Smith of Troy MI and Fredrick L. Smith of Brunswick; her sister: Anna Luisa Filannino (Dr. Nicholas) of Shelton, CT; 7 Grandchildren, 5 Great Grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Hospice of the Golden Isles. Arrangements are under the direction of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home, www.edomillerandsons.com .
