Marilyn Irene Harris

Marilyn was born to parents William Riley Johnson and Hazel Irene Caroll Johnson and was a life-long resident of Brunswick. After high school, she married A.W. Wilkes and the couple had two children. After AW’s death, she married Clifford William Harris, who also preceded her in death. Marilyn was a very sociable person who never met a stranger. She worked for IAP on Colonels Island and later at Southeast Georgia Health Systems where she parked cars for the valet department. She will be missed.

In addition to her parents and her two husbands, she was preceded in death by her natural birth mother, Hazel Irene Johnson; two brothers, Van and Jordan Johnson and two sisters, Lucy Scott and Inell Fields.

Marilyn is survived by her children, Angela and William Wilkes; a stepdaughter, Teresa Wilkes; three grandchildren, Colt Hudson, Wendy Lane and David Partin; her mother, Betty Cason and five brothers, William Johnson, Michael Cason, Ray Cason, Jr., Jamie Cason and Randall Cason.

A graveside service will be held at Palmetto Cemetery on Friday, February 2, 2024 at 11:00 am where she will be interred next to her first husband, A.W. Wilkes. Reverend Gary Fouche will officiate.
