Marion Lloyd Bunkley

Bunkie, as he was affectionately known, was a lifelong resident of Brunswick and the son of the late William Henderson Bunkley and the late Minnie Malone Bunkley. He was also preceded in death by his late wife, Marilyn Ann Bunkley; a son, Richard William Bunkley; a grandson, Derrick Miller; five siblings, Guy Bunkley, Billy Bunkley, Mary Miller, Ruby Martin, and Jeri Mittendorf.

Marion was a graduate of Glynn Academy and a retired carpenter with Brunswick Pulp and Paper. He was also a member of Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Marion served his family with honors in the United States Marine Corps. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a social butterfly that never met a stranger. He was an avid outdoorsman that enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and was a master craftsman who enjoyed woodworking in his spare time. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Left to cherish his memories are his two daughters and son-in-laws, Kellie and Mike Cochran and Vickie and Randall Miller; one son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Susan Bunkley all of Brunswick, GA; grandchildren, Breanna Anderson (Tim), Pamela Dubberly, Brittany Bunkley, Ricky Bunkley (Keely), Trina Briseno (Rene), Tracey Cochran, Monica Rowell (Dustin); precious great grandchildren who referred to him as the great one, Maxwell Anderson, Ryder Bunkley, Sierra and Stadler Briseno, Oliver and Harper Rowell, and Olivia MacDaniel. A sister, Elsie Kalcos, and several nieces and nephew also survive.

The family will receive friends between 6:00 — 7:00 PM Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. The funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, May 28, 2021 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Father Tim McKeown officiating. The burial will follow the service in Chapel Park Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be Ricky Bunkley, Mike Cochran, Tim Anderson, Eddie Dubberly, Walter Rafolski, and Keith Campbell.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you for memorial contributions made to the American Cancer Society in Marion's memory.
