

Mr. Ricker was a native of Charleston, S.C. and had been a resident of McIntosh County for the past 27 years. He was on the Library Board in McIntosh County and worked with FEMA as a liaison for McIntosh County and was instrumental in the implementation of the area mapping for McIntosh County. He was employed with the City of Darien in various capacities and was the Safety Officer for Darien.
Mr. Ricker was a veteran of W.W. II and was a radio operator for General Dwight D. Eisenhower and traveled extensively with him throughout the war. Mr. Ricker loved genealogy and was the owner of a hobby shop while kids were growing up and he loved to make ships.
He was a member of the international Federation of Professional and technical Engineers and the member of the St. James Lutheran Church in Brunswick.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Steele Ricker and two sons, Robert George Ricker and Edward Virgil Ricker.
Survivors are his daughter, Kathleen M. Howard of Lake Jackson, TX., a brother, Kenneth Ricker of Chicago, IL. Grandchildren, Christopher Mort Ricker from Arkansas, John Patrick Koziol, Lisa Ann Koziol, Philip Andrew Koziol, Mary Margaret Koziol, and Michael Sandon Koziol all of Texas. , great grandchildren, Kaiya Kristof Koziol, Shaelyn Dane Simple, Kevin Glen Koziol, Kenzi Rene Koziol and Landon Cole Boykin and a niece Susan Corlette of Darien and many other nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 Am Wednesday 5/5/10 in the St. James Lutheran Church with Rev. John Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Park Cemetery with Military Honors.
Active pallbearers will be: John Koziol, Philip Kozoiol, Michael Koziol, Butch Ricker, Jerry Ricker, Bubba Ricker and Jed Ricker. Honorary pallbearers will be; Don Boone, Joseph Mouton, Buddy Davis, Harry Ricker, Jr., Donald Ricker, Gary Ricker.
The family will receive friends at his residence in Darien and at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home from 6 PM to 8 PM Tuesday The family request those wishing may make contributions to the St. James Lutheran Church, Brunswick, Ga.
