Marlene Harvey Branson

Marlene Harvey Branson, 72, of Darien, died Sunday, October 26, 2014 at Sears Manor in Brunswick. Memorial services will be held at 11AM Thursday, October 30, 2014 at Young’s Island Community Church of God with Pastor Jody Griffin officiating. Private inurnment will follow in Branson Cemetery.

Born September 3, 1942 in Hahira, Georgia to the late Herman and Zula B. Harvey, she was the former co-owner and secretary of B&B Floors. Mrs. Branson was also a Gulf Life Insurance Representative and along with her husband were caretakers of Patterson Island. A resident of McIntosh County for the past 34 years, she was a member of Young’s Island Community Church of God and enjoyed fishing and gardening. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Branson was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel L. Branson, a daughter, Tina Marie Branson, and a sister, Aurelia Lehman. Survivors include a daughter, Terri Sheets and husband Lucky of Darien, a son, Bert Branson and wife Julianna of Brunswick, a adopted son, James Branson of Dover Bluff, six grandchildren, Stacey Sheets, Wesley Sheets, Candice Branson, Grace Branson, Jennifer Rhoden, and Aireona Branson, 8 great grandchildren, Hunter Sheets, Madison Sheets, Georgia Sheets, Dalyce Quinn, Petie Kemp, Megan Kemp, Lukace Branson, and Aubree Rhoden, a great granddaughter, Lacie Clark, 2 brothers, Herbert Harvey and wife Christine of Valdosta and Wyatt Harvey of NC.
