Born on September 5, 1965, and raised in Brunswick, Georgia, Marvin was the son of the late Marvin Lee Harsh Sr. and Linda Lee Westberry Harsh. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 40 years, Susan Champion Harsh; his parents; his brother, Troy Harsh; and many other cherished family members and friends.
He is survived by his children, Magan Harsh Dobson (Adam), Jason Charles Harsh (Brittney High), and Nathan Andrew Harsh (Taylor Herron); his beloved granddaughters, Lillian Claire Dobson, Lydia Rose Dobson, Lorelei Jean Dobson, and Hattie James High; his sister-in-law, Julia Champion Chancy (Olan); and his devoted dog, Lindy Lee. He also leaves behind many extended family members and lifelong friends. Marvin was endlessly proud of his children and embraced his role as “Papa” with heartfelt joy and love.
He spent his career as an industrial salesman, working with what his daughter fondly referred to as the “big boy toys.” He had a natural knack for connecting with people, knowing his products inside and out, and getting the job done with quiet confidence and an easy smile. His work ethic and professionalism earned him the respect of colleagues and customers alike.
Marvin’s favorite pastime was watching TV, where his curiosity came alive as he explored everything from history to classic car auctions. His fondness for classic rock was the soundtrack to many moments shared with family and friends.
He especially loved coaching and watching his sons play sports. Whether rain or shine, Marvin was always there, cheering them on with pride and unwavering dedication. His steady support and encouragement were a constant source of strength and motivation for his boys.
In his final days, Marvin’s playful side shone through with his humorous beliefs and confessions. He firmly believed in Bigfoot and aliens, and cheekily admitted to being D.B. Cooper, a secret he shared with a twinkle in his eye.
Service details will be announced by the family at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL. Marvin will be remembered for his strength, humor, his love for his family, and the unique way he saw the world. His legacy lives on in the minds he inspired and the hearts he loved.
Rest in peace, Marvin. We will miss you.
