Monty O'Dell Sr.

Monty was born to the late George and Hattie O’Dell and called Anderson, Indiana home for 84 years. He was a United States Army Veteran and was a commercial truck driver most of his life. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Ford O’Dell, Clarence O’Dell and Wilbert O’Dell.

He is survived by his wife Shelby Jean O’Dell of Pooler; his children, Monty Edward O’Dell of Orlando, FL., James Leroy O’Dell and his wife Virginia of Pawley’s Island, SC, Cheryl McLaughlin of Pooler, Timothy Michael O’Dell and his wife Tina of Amarillo, Tx, and Nettie Marie Norris of Brunswick; 15 grandchildren plus more; 2 great grandchildren; and one sister, Linda Arlington.

The family will receive friends and family from 6pm – 8pm on Monday, May 15, at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral home.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00am, Tuesday, May 16 from the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons. A reception in Mr. O’Dell’s honor will follow directly after the service at the funeral home.

Internment services will be conducted 11:30am, Wednesday, May 17, at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32218.
