March 28, 2021. Tim was born in Jesup, Georgia the son of the late Berry Carlton “Salty” Hightower Sr. and the late Lilla Hammock Hightower. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Joy Brown and a nephew, Berry Hightower III.
Tim lived most of his life on Saint Simons Island and resided in Brunswick for the past seven years. He was a 1972 Glynn Academy graduate and a star football player. He earned his Bachelors of Arts degree with a full scholarship from East Carolina University where he was an outstanding football player. He was owner and president of Teak Imports international, Inc. and he and his wife operated the Wood Floor Depot in Brunswick. He was a member of Family Life Church. Tim enjoyed fishing and all water activities. He loved to spend time with family and friends. He also loved to travel domestically and abroad. His favorite greeting was “It’s Another Beautiful Day in Paradise!” He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Left to cherish the wonderful memories of Tim are his loving sister, Carla Brantley of Brunswick; a brother, Berry “Pepper” Hightower (Barbara) of Chesapeake, VA; wife of thirty-four years, Victoria Hightower of Brunswick; two daughters, Julianna Kittles of Jesup and Karinna Karsten (Timothy) of Los Angeles, CA; one precious granddaughter, Julianna Grace Branson; two nieces and one nephew also survive, Christine Brantley, Angie Repking (David), and Dade Brantley (Lydia).
A funeral service to celebrate Tim’s life will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, April 2, 2021 in the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Pastor Josh Walker officiating. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Larry Lundy, Skip Russell, Duncan Shelby, Bill Lewis, Hal Hart and Dade Brantley. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. The burial will be held at the Hightower family plot at 3:30 PM in Oakridge Cemetery in Tifton, GA.
