Nancy Mae McCollum

Nancy M. McCollum, 67 of Brunswick departed this life April 29, 2016 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Northside Baptist Church in Darien, with interment following in Whispering Pines Cemetery.

Nancy was born in Claxton, Georgia and raised in Darien, Georgia. She met her first love Jim La Fleur living in Rumford, Maine. God brought them a son, Jason, and a daughter, Tonya by stork. But, God had plans for him. Nancy met her second love AZ Rozier and moved to Darien, GA. With him, she inherited two more sons, Dee and Gar, and she loved them as if they were her own. God would give Nancy and AZ a son they named Jimmy, which she could love and nurture because God had other plans for AZ.

God knew what Nancy had gone through, and made a plan that Nancy would finally meet her one true love at last, Bobby McCollum and move to Brunswick, GA. Bobby accepted Jimmy as his own, and with him he brought his children Joe, Mike, and Mark. She accepted them with open arms as she had the children before them. God knew what he was doing. Although she never birthed any children of her own she had plenty of love to go around. God filled Nancy’s life with love and in turn, she spread love and joy to all the met her and loved her.

Nancy leaves behind a legacy of loved ones, including the love of her life Bobby McCollum and all eight of her children mentioned. Many grandchildren including Tate La Fleur and Amos La Fleur, and greatgrandchildren including Buckie Mae La Fleur, Brooklyn La Fleur, three sisters and brother-in- laws, Joe and husband Gene Bradly, Mary and Joe Corlette, and Kathy and Eddie Richardson, and a brother and sister- in-law Wade and Vivian Lynn. Many nieces and nephews and more friends than you can count. She is also preceded in death by her mother, father, two brothers, and a sister. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening May 3, 2016 from 6-8 PM at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.
