
Nolan Edward Howard, 89, longtime resident of Brunswick, went to be with His Lord on Sunday, January 19, 2014. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Crandall officiating.
He was born on August 6, 1926, in Pierce County, GA. Mr. Howard served his country in the Merchant Marine and then in the USAF before making Brunswick his home. He was a faithful Sunday School teacher and choir member until Alzheimer’s disease made that impossible. Mr. Howard was preceded in death by his parents, Myrtie and Robert Purdom Howard, a brother, Hubert and sister, Mildred, and a grandson, David Justin Howard.
Nolan is survived by Lois Gibson Howard, his precious wife of 63 years, son Michael Alan Howard and his wife, Angie, all of Brunswick. He is also survived by a daughter, Lori Howard Smith, son-in-law Alan Bartow Smith, and grandson Peter Bartow Smith of Marietta, Georgia, two sisters, Ethel Harris and Lawana Pafford, as well as miscellaneous cousins, nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 1PM until the funeral hour at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of the Golden Isles. www.edomillerandsons.com
