

She was the daughter of the late Anna Lue Riley Nelson and William Ted Nelson. Phyllis was married to Johnny R. Greene of Brunswick and was the mother to two sons, Rockey (Monica) Arledge and Brian (Cindy) Arledge of North Carolina.
Phyllis was the “Nanny” to six grands including Isaac, Luke, Karston, Diesel, Nova and Amos. She was the sister of Rita Nelson (Dan) Jamieson of Columbiaville, Michigan and had a dear cousin, Donna (Russ) Vaughn of Woodhaven, Michigan, who was every bit of a sister also.
Phyllis was a former Hairdresser and former teacher In Columbus, North Carolina.
Phyllis lived a good life, was a kind lady, and had many friends from all walks of life. She loved her Savior
Christ Jesus and during her children’s growing up, served as a Sunday School teacher.
Phyllis loved to travel and adventured the world over especially with her dear husband, Johnny. She loved life and tried to leave no stone unturned on this earth, including the adventures of sky diving.
Phyllis was known as the “Queen of White Oak Mountain”, “Queen of Queen’s Court” and “The White
Tornado” for her love of, and speed in, cleaning her home. Never a dirty dish in the sink.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Anna Lue Riley Nelson and William Ted Nelson; maternal grandparents, Minnie Bell (Atnip) Riley and Tommy Riley; paternal grandparents, Emma (Spencer) Nelson and Charles Nelson, and her former husband, Gerald “Jerry” Gosnell of Tyron, North Carolina.
Phyllis will be so missed by all. Rest in Peace sweet lady until we meet again…..
