

The youngest of 8 siblings he worked at the Loganton, PA CCC Camp and the Renova Railroad yards in his teen years before joining the US Navy during WW II. After serving in the Pacific Theatre during the war he made the Navy his career serving during the Korean War and as an advisor in Viet Nam where he was awarded a Purple Heart.
He married Evelyn Brickley of Lock Haven, PA in Washington DC in 1947. Together they traveled the world with the Navy and for pleasure. They instilled in their children and grandchildren a love of travel and adventure. Following military retirement they made Brunswick their home where Ralph attended BJC and offered his artistic and woodworking skills to volunteer organizations, particularly Pilot International with his wife.
Ralph was predeceased by his parents, his wife, Evelyn, and all of his siblings and their spouses: Dominic (Jenny), Frank (Kathy), Mike, Nick (Vi), Grace Costagliola (Frank), Cecelia Pezzano (Frank), and Monica LaPanna (John).
He is survived by his children: Robin Lee Gentile (Beth) of Ellijay, GA and Marsha Gentile Rauscher (Don) of Dallas, GA. Grandsons: Christopher Rauscher (Courtney) of Brunswick and Derek Rauscher (Jaime) of Cornelius, NC. Great Grandchildren: Ethan, Mackenzie, and Annaleigh Rauscher, William Rauscher, and Taylor and Katie Miles. Survivors also include Roy Brickley, brother-in-law, of Howard, PA and many loved nieces and nephews.
Due to Covid, there is no visitation planned. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Francis Xavier at a future date and burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA.
