

He was born, May 28, 1948, to the late Francis Gerald McBride and Frances Virginia Solomon in Tallahassee, FLA.
He grew up in a military family and lived all over the world, including Saudi Arabia, Japan, Holland and Switzerland. He met his wife, Margaret C. McBride (Peg) in high school and they were married in 1978. He worked on historic barrier islands, including the lodge on Ossabaw, Greyfield Inn, Cumberland Hotel and Stafford Plantation.
His passion later in life was making wreaths out of artifacts that he found while working on these islands and locally. His love was scouring the shores for driftwood, lures, sea glass and anything else that would bring more interest to his wreaths.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Michael McBride.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret C. McBride of 46 years, daughter Shannon McBride, brother Neil McBride, and many family members, as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will take place at Village Creek Landing on Sunday, June 8, 2025, from 11-2 pm on St Simons Island, GA.
