

Bob was born November 24, 1948 in Pratt, Kansas the son of the late Stanley Eugene Staats and the late Elizabeth Caroline Staats. He graduated from Pratt High School and enlisted with the United States Marine Corps. He served his country with honors in the United States Marines during the Vietnam War receiving the National Defense Service Medal. Bob was the devoted husband to Annette Dominey Staats and a loving father to his children. He was a member of the Marine Corps League Chapter 1333 and a member of the Pine Ridge Baptist Church. He enjoyed singing at his church and was a devoted member of the Silver Liners. Bob was a person that never meet a stranger and had a personality that everyone on loved. He was also a talented man that could sing and play several instruments including the guitar and Bass guitar. Bob was Co-Director, MC, and a performer at the Woodbine Opry. Bob retired after twenty-five years of employment from Hajoca Corporation. After his retirement, he became a Funeral Attendant with Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.
Bob was preceded in death by his Parents, Stanley Eugene and Elizabeth Caroline Staats; a son, Bobby Council. He is survived by his beloved wife, Annette Dominey Staats of Brunswick, GA; his four sons, Pete Staats (Laura) of Brunswick, GA, Chuck Dixon (Brandi) of Brunswick, GA, Donnie Council (Marliyn) of Albany, GA, and Mike Council of Brunswick, GA; his two daughters, Pam Greminger (Kurt) of Savannah, GA and Debbie Anthony (Wade) of Pratt, KA; a sister, Nancy Brush (Bill) of Branson, MO; two precious grand children with another for coming soon, Elizabeth and Bobby Staats of Brunswick, GA.
Bob loved to spend time with his family and friends. He was an avid reader. He also enjoyed history and genealogy. Bob was a caring person that was always willing to help those in need. Bob will be missed by all who knew and loved him. His family will have many fond memories to cherish for years to come.
The family will receive friends during the hours of 12:00-2:00 PM Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. A catered reception will be served. The family cordially invites you to help them celebrate Bob’s life at his funeral service that will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Michael Gibbs will officiate the service with burial to follow in Chapel Park Cemetery.
