

He was a graduate of Dalton High school in Dalton Ga. He was a member of Varnell Baptist Church. While living in Brunswick GA, he has been faithfully attending Marshes of Glynn Baptist Church.
Lee was born March 4, 1930 the son of Felix S Dyer, and mother Ethel L Bishop Dyer of Dalton, GA.
He proudly served our country and was a military Veteran of the United States Armed services. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, father, grandfather, great grandfather and good friend to many.
Lee attended the first NASCAR race held in Daytona Beach Florida February 1948. From that moment on he became an avid NASCAR fan. His favorite driver was Richard Petty, followed by Awesome Bill Elliot from Dawsonville. Then Dale Earnhardt, Dale Jr and currently it was Chase Elliot. If you ever decided to challenge Lee about NASCAR stats be prepared to lose, as he knew everything about this sport the he loved so much.
One of his favorite hobbies was spending time outdoors working in his yard, especially keeping his lawn well maintained with his beloved riding lawn mower. You could often see him mowing several neighbors yards if they were under the weather or out of town. He loved a perfectly mowed lawn.
Lee was a kind man. He loved spending time with his family. You never heard him yelling or raising his voice. He was never one to participate in idle gossip. He was a happy man that loved life. His nephew Jarrett summed it up best by saying; “Uncle Lee always had this peaceful and calm aura around him. When you were in his presence, you always felt welcome and safe.”
He also had great compassion and love for all types of animals. There was never a time in his life that he wasn’t taking care of a pet.

Bishop Dyer of Dalton, GA, Brothers, Charlie Dyer, Harvey Kenneth (Buster) Dyer both of Dalton, GA, Sisters, Gladys Burch and Pauline Phillips both of Dalton, GA, Aunts, Lucy Green of Conasauga, TN, Naomi Cloer of Howell, Michigan and Eileen Higdon of Cisco Georgia, Uncles, Lee Cockburn of Dalton, Georgia, Paul Burns, and Johnny Cockburn of California.
Survived by family members Daughter, Darlene Bearden of Brunswick GA previously of Varnell GA, One sister, Cathy B Harris of Dalton GA, Grandchildren, Brittney Tribuzio (Rob Tribuzio) Amber Bearden, Josh West all of Brunswick GA, Shaun West and Justin West both of Charlotte North Carolina. 9 great grandchildren, Several nieces and nephews. Many close friends, including Fiancee Geraldine Hall of Brunswick GA.
Brunswick Visitation will be from 10am to 11am Monday July 10th at Marshes of Glynn Baptist Church with services at 11am, Reverend Darrell Joiner officiating.
For his final resting place he will then be transported to Julian Peeples Funeral home Cleveland Hwy, Dalton GA. Viewing will be from 8am to 10am on Wednesday July 12th. Graveside services to follow in the Varnell Cemetery at 11am with Reverend David Neal Crowe officiating.
