
Roderick “Hew” McCall, III, 60, of Brunswick passed away Tuesday, the 6th of August 2013 at the Southeast Georgia Health System. A memorial service will be held Saturday, the 10th day of August, at 11:00 a.m., at College Place United Methodist Church.
Mr. McCall was born in Chatham County, Georgia, to the late Roderick Mayhew McCall, Jr., and Armatha Morgan McCall on the 9th day of September, 1952. Hew resided in Brunswick for thirty years and he and his wife, Jaci, had been married seventeen years. Hew took particular interest in commercial shrimp fishing. He was a tug boat captain and owned and operated McCall’s Trawls for ten years. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle and participating in overseas mission trips.
Mr. McCall was preceded in death by his parents, Roderick Mayhew McCall, Jr., and Armatha Morgan McCall.
Among the many surviving family members of Hew McCall are his wife, Jaci; two daughters, Donna Boatwright (Mitch) of El Paso, TX, Rachel Kernes (Trevor) of Orting, WA; a step-daughter, Megan Ashley (Clay) of Charlotte, NC; a step-son Ian Drawdy (Megan) of Brunswick; two sisters, Celia Bazemore (Jerry) of Hinesville, GA and Kim Dabbs (John) of Heartland, TX; and one brother, Marc McCall of Brunswick. Hew had six grandchildren and four nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
