Ron was born September 26, 1938 in Bryan County, Georgia the son of Hilda Glisson and the late Wilba L. Glisson. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife of fifty-six years, Edna Faye Glisson.
Ron was a graduate of Commercial High School in Savannah, Georgia. He served his country with honor in The United States Marine Corp. He had lived in Glynn County for the past fifty-five years. Ron retired from Carlton Company after forty years of employment. He was also a member of the Saint Simons Community Church.
Left to cherish his memories are his mother, Hilda Glisson; his three daughters, Susan Kathryn Clark (Paul) of Midway, GA, Nancy Hulse (Chris) of Savannah, GA, Mary Cason (Tony) of Brunswick, GA; and son, Ron Glisson (Sara) of St. Simons Island, GA; two brothers, Rex Glisson (Kimberly) of Savannah, GA, and Mike Glisson (Linda) of Atlanta, GA; one brother-in-law, Hugh Brantley (Claudia) of Spartanburg, SC. Eight wonderful grandchildren and four precious great grandchildren also survive.
Ron loved to spend time with his family and friends. He was an outdoorsman and an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed traveling and working in his yard. Ron will be missed by all who knew and loved him. His family will have many fond memories to cherish for years to come.
A celebration of life service to honor Ron’s life will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, November 16, 2018 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jon Blankenship officiating. An inurnment will follow the service at St. Williams Catholic Church Columbarium.
