Sallie Mizell Williams

Sallie Mizell Williams, 92, a resident of Brunswick, passed away Tuesday evening December 20, 2011 at her residence.

Memorial Services will be held at 11 am. Friday December 23, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church of Brunswick with Rev. James R. McIlrath officiating. Interment will follow in Pineview Cemetery in Folkston, GA 3 pm. Friday.

Family will receive friends Thursday evening December 22, 2011 from 5 pm. until 7 pm. at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home .

Mrs. Williams was a born July 23, 1919 in Folkston, Georgia to Pratt G. Mizell and Maude Knox Mizell, and had been a resident of Brunswick since 1964. Before moving to Brunswick in 1964 Mrs. Williams was a member of the First Methodist Church of Sanford, FL. and Starke, Fl. where she served as President of the Women’s Society of Christian Service in both churches. Mrs. Williams was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Brunswick since August 30, 1964 where she was a member of the Together Sunday School Class. Mrs. Williams was also member of the Altar Guild Committee, and was an active member of the United Methodist Women serving the local unit as President and Treasurer and also served as the District Treasurer. Mrs. Williams also belonged to the Ruth Fellowship #3. Mrs. Williams, along with her husband Eugene, they served in the Homebound Communion Ministry and as a visitation team.

In addition to Mrs. Williams’s parents she is preceded in death by her husband Eugene Mizell Williams, a sister Audrey Mae Riley, four brothers Gilbert M. Mizell, Eustace M. Mizell, James F. Mizell, and Ward E. Mizell.

Survivors include her daughter, Janet Sills and husband Howard of Eatonton, Georgia, her son Brian Eugene Williams of Brunswick, GA, a step-grandson Taylor Rossee Sills of Eatonton, GA., and many nieces and nephews.
