Sally Pitts

Sally Pitts, a residence of Brunswick, Ga., passed away Monday, the 25th of September 2017 under the care of the Hospice of the Golden Isles, at the age 82. She was born the 12th of April 1935 in Hancock County Georgia, daughter of the late Eddie Preston Simpson and the late Mary Arlene Simpson of Milledgeville GA. Mrs. Pitts was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She enjoyed family functions and preparing dinners for her family. She especially loved travelling and camping with her husband. She leaves many fond memories that will be cherished by all.

In addition to Sally’s parents she is preceded in death by her daughter Sandra Marie Pitts, her brothers Buddy and Albert (Gearlene) Simpson, sisters Lilly Mercer, Carrie Wilcher, and Amelia Reyes.

Survivors include her loving husband of 64 years, Lorenzia Pitts of Brunswick; her children Wanda Pitts Rowell (Steve) of Trudie GA and Franklin Pitts (Shellie) of Fountain CO; sisters Emma Eady of Milledgeville GA and Evelyn Quinn of SC; brothers Preston (Sandra) of Gum Branch GA and William Simpson of Milledgeville GA; sister-in-law Ellene Simpson of SC; daughter-in-law Sonya Sangster Pitts of Boerne TX; grandchildren Amber Pitts Bayne (Jason) of Boerne TX, Matthew Rowell of Charlotte NC, Douglas Pitts of Fountain CO, Patrick (Aislinn) Rowell of Trudie GA, Christopher Rowell of Westminster MD, and Tyler Rowell of Statesboro GA; great-grandchildren Waverly, Wymberly and Wyndal Rowell of Trudie GA, and Cora and Colin Bayne of Boerne TX.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Friday the 29th of September 2017 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home, 3321 Glynn Ave. in Brunswick.

A funeral service is to be conducted at 10 a.m., Saturday, the 30th of September 2017 in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home, where Reverend Don Spires is to officiate. Interment will follow with a funeral cortege to Chapel Park Cemetery in Brunswick. Serving pallbearers are Steve, Matthew, Patrick, Christopher, Tyler Rowell and Douglas Pitts.
