Sandra was born May 2, 1950 in Princeton, West Virginia the daughter of the late Chester and Helen Jewell. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of thirty-two years, Michael Jan Young; a son, Christopher Young; two sisters, Betty Fox and Judy Jewell.
Sandra graduated from Lima Senior High School. She received her Associate Degree in Nursing from Ohio State Community College. She had been a resident of Brunswick, Georgia for the past four years. She previously resided in Jacksonville, Florida where she was employed as a LPN at Baptist Medical Center. Sandra lived most of her adult life in Ohio. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
Left to cherish Sandra’s memories are her son, Tim Young (Carrie) of Jacksonville, FL; one daughter, Nichole manning (Paul) of Brunswick, GA; eight wonderful grandchildren, Shaun, Austin, Mallory, Michael, Lilly, Krysta, Trey, and Luke; two sisters, Joyce Hollenbacher and Carol Miller (Dale); one brother, Danny Jewell (Mary). Numerous nieces, nephews, and friends also survive.
Sandra loved to spend time with her family and friends. She also cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and watching game shows. Sandra was an avid sports fan with her favorite teams being, Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns. She also enjoyed spending time on the beach. Sandra will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Her family will have many fond memories to cherish for years to come.
A memorial service to honor Sandra’s life will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, October 26, 2018 at The Grace Place in Brunswick, Georgia with Elder Ron Scarboro officiating.
