Shirley Johnson Krueger

A native of Macon, GA, Shirley married Mike in 1984 and subsequently moved to St. Simons Island, GA, where she opened a successful title company, Coastal Title Services. Shirley enjoyed living in St. Simons and fell in love with both the beach and her neighborhood. She enjoyed cooking and sharing her food with her neighbors, who fondly referred to her as “Ms. Grits.” Shirley also spent time at her home in Amelia Island, FL where she loved walking on the beach with family, searching for seashells and shark teeth and enjoying a good novel in the sun. She was a member of the St. William Catholic Church, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth and Howard Johnson; brother, John Johnson; and son-in-law, Michael Nystrom.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Mike Krueger; her daughters, DeDee Nystrom, Ashley (Gregg) Wiley; her son, Chris (Sarah) Krueger; and her grandchildren, Jessica Nystrom, Maiah Wiley, and Caleb Krueger; her sister, Laura Jane Stephens ( John); a niece, Kimberly Roberts (Brian).

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at St. William Catholic Church on St. Simons Island. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Humane Society of South Coastal Georgia and/or Hospice of the Golden Isles.
