Susan was born in St. Augustine, Florida to parents George and Marie Trutt and the family moved to Darien in 1977. Susan graduated from nursing school and worked as a nurse at Southeast Georgia Health Systems Brunswick Campus. She also enjoyed helping her husband, Dale, with their commercial fishing business.
In addition to her parents, a brother, Neil Trutt and a nephew, Justin Trutt preceded her in death.
Susan is survived by her husband, Dale Ackerman of Darien; two daughters, Amanda Rogers (Robert Dewitt) of Powder Springs and Jessica Chance (John Spivey) of Odum; three grandsons, Austin Glisson of Powder Springs, Fred Chance, II and Michael Chance, both of Bryan County and several nieces and nephews.
Susan’s memorialization will be by cremation.
