Susan Ramona Jacobs

Susan was born on October 15, 1959 in Blackshear, Georgia to the proud parents R.D. Smith, Sr. and Willene Smith. She worked hard over the years starting at the age of 19 at the company then known as Hercules of Brunswick. Over the years she worked hard to continue her education, earning her master’s in Business, moving further into the company and her last title being the supply chain manager, all the while having a family and raising 3 children. In the 42 years of working at Pinova she was very proud of her work family and the friendships she developed over the years were very important to her! When Susan was not working she enjoyed spending quality time with her children, grandchildren, family and friends. She always looked forward to her time with them being on the water and gathering together making memories that will last an eternity. Susan had a unique ability to draw everyone together; she accepted and loved everyone that came along, never turning anyone away. She mentored, loved and truly cared for many people in her life. She loved her children, grandchildren and every child in her presence and treated them as her own. She was BaeBae to not only her grandchildren but all children above all. Susan was a member of the United Pentecostal Church and will be remembered for her caring, loving and generous character.

Her father, RD Smith, Sr., preceded her in death.

She is survived by her mother, Willene Smith of Brunswick, GA; her three children, Lindsay Smith Gay, Malorie Ruffner Younce (Simon) and Drew Ruffner, all of Darien, GA; six grandchildren, Joslyn Ruffner, Landon Gay, Sailina Younce, Stella Younce, Liam Younce and Issac Younce; a brother, Ronnie Smith; a niece, Erica Smith; a nephew, Romey Smith, III and her fiancé, Henry Harden. She was also survived by many loved aunts, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends at the United Pentecostal Church on Monday October 4th from 12:00 to 2:00 pm for visitation. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 with Reverend Danny Webster officiating. Burial will be private.
