Varunee was the loving mother of eight children: Warachard (Thanyachanok) Warakanbancha, Waraditsata Warakanbancha, Waraharuetai Shay, Waralucksanai Warakanbancha, Warakan Warakanbancha, Whitny Rinehart, Natasha Rinehart, and Fatima Rinehart; and beloved grandmother to fourteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her late husband, William Rinehart; her father, Torn Butsri; her mother, Pin Phononghai; and her granddaughter, Leila Gal Ardestani.
While studying architecture at Assumption University in Bangkok, Thailand she revealed a natural talent for technopaegnia (the art of shaped poetry), eloquent riddles, literature and poetry. Her beautiful voice rang out as both choir leader and head cheerleader, captivating all who heard her. In 1985, she embarked on a new adventure, immigrating to the United States and gracefully weaving the rich traditions of her Thai heritage into her American life.
Professionally, Varunee sold cosmetics and sang with a voice that embodied the soul of traditional Thai melodies. Yet her greatest calling—and deepest joy—was her role as matriarch. Her home was a haven, filled with unconditional love, the irresistible aromas of Thai cooking, and the joyous sounds of laughter and family.
Beyond her family and career, Varunee cultivated a rich inner world. She found peace in crocheting delicate works of art, walking along the beach with the ocean breeze on her face, and tending to her lush botanical garden - a living symbol of her nurturing spirit. Every blooming flower echoed the care and love she poured into the lives of those around her. Most especially, at the heart of her being, was her deep abiding faith, which she joyfully shared by spreading the word of the Gospel, blessing everyone who came across her path.
Her life was a testament to faith, creativity, and unwavering love. Though her physical presence is gone, the charm and captivating aura of Varunee Rinehart will forever resonate in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her.
