

Virginia H. Phillips 89, of Brunswick, Georgia, formerly of Bristol, Tennessee, died Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Hospice House of Waycross. Funeral services will be held 11AM Wednesday, December 18, 2013 in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Lane officiating. Interment will follow in Wyatt Cemetery in Bristol, TN on Friday December 20, 2013 at 11AM with Rev. Tony Hamby officiating.
Born February 7, 1924 in Pikeville, WV to the late Edward and Virgie H. Bowden, she was a homemaker and had been a resident of Glynn County for the past four years. Mrs. Phillips was a member of Coastal Baptist Church and enjoyed Bible Study, praising the Lord, and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her late husband of 49 years, Wiley Drenon Phillips, a son, Billy Phillips, a son in law, Eddie Manor, and a granddaughter Anitrea Taber.
Survivors include two daughters, Catherine “Cathy” Pierce and husband Dan of Columbia, SC, Betty Manor, of Brunswick, a daughter in law, Josephine Phillips of Lancaster, PA, 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Wednesday morning December18, 2013 from 10AM until the funeral hour at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Satilla, 808 Evergreen Way, Waycross, GA 31501. www.edomillerandsons.com
