

He was preceded in death by his mother, Martha Carter Rentz and his father, Wilbur Lee Rentz. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth, of 49 ½ years; son, Jamie Rentz (Julie); and three precious grandchildren, Dustin (Lindsey), Brittney, Katie; and granddog, Ruger; his sister, JoAnn Hickox (Johnny); niece, Alesha Rozier (Randy); and nephew, Donnie Sloan (Dawn). Several great nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive.
He graduated from Glynn Academy and started work with Leggett Brothers Electric, where he became a master electrician. He proudly served his country with honor for thirty-three years in the Georgia Army National Guard with 23 years served active duty. He served in Desert Storm and earned many achievements and awards. Upon retirement from the military he founded Rentz Electric. Danny was a man who loved God and served actively at First Free Will Baptist Church in Brunswick, Ga. He was also a long term active board member of Brunswick Christian Academy, hunter, and fisherman who loved watching sports, especially the Bulldogs! GO DAWGS!!
The family will receive friends at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home on Sunday, July 31, 2022 between 5 - 7:00 pm. The Home Going Celebration to honor Danny's life will be held at 11:00 AM First Freewill Baptist Church on Monday, August 1, 2022 with Rev. Chris McEachern and Rev. Terry Hennecke officiating. The burial will follow the service in Chapel Park Cemetery with full military honors.
Active Pallbearers will be Bart McLendon, Floyd Gilleon, John Bigford, Aaron Saunders, Ed Cox, Jim Blanton, and Randy Rozier.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Brunswick Christian Academy for a new bus for the students.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at SE.G.H.S. and to Dr. James Hula, Dr. Kenyon Meadows, Dr. Antonio Moran and staff, and Dr. David Suddath and staff, and Lisia Sullins, FNP-C.
