

Alan Brown, age 68, currently residing in Calgary, Alberta passed away unexpectedly in his home February 1, 2016. Alan was born on June 18, 1947 in Bournemouth, England to Joe and Elizabeth Brown and immigrated to Canada in 1949. He is survived by his loving wife Kathy.
Alan was serving the hobby community starting with Little General’s in the 1970’s and ending with Chinook & Hobby West. He loved helping new and experienced hobbyists find their passion in model building. His love of all kinds of Sci-Fi, from movies to TV ranged from such titles as, Lost in Space, Godzilla and Babylon 5. Alan was well known among those who loved Science Fiction and fellow hobbyists. He spent many enjoyable hours planning Science Fiction Conventions and attending them, as well as collecting movie posters, model kits and Sci-Fi treasures.
A Celebration of Life will be held at South Calgary Community Church, 2900 Cedarbrae Drive SW, on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at 2:00 p.m.
You are invited to wear your favourite Science Fiction character costume in true memory of Alan.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations being made in Alan’s memory directly to the Meow Foundation, PO Box 65024, RPO North Hill, Calgary, AB T2N 4T6.
