Alex was born in Baja, Hungary. His parents immigrated to Calgary, Alberta, Canada in 1957. He graduated from St. Francis High School and S.A.I.T Petroleum Technology. Alex worked at Fox Creek and transferred to Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta with Chevron Petroleum until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, boating and living at the family cabin at Ghost Lake, his favourite spot, gardening, and travelling on family vacations to so many places. In the past he loved to visit Las Vegas and play the slots. Alex’s greatest hobby was to collect coins, DVD’s, Star Trek, Star Wars, and Marvel memorabilia. He was a true Trekkie and Star Wars fan.
Alex is survived by his brother Tony Csilics (Linda), sister Valerie Csilics, nieces Jodi Csilics, Leanne McLeer and two great nephews; Kyle McLeer and Evan McLeer. He is predeceased by his parents Anton and Maria Csilics.
A Funeral Service will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.
