

Alice Brewer (nee Mantz) born February 1, 1920 passed away peacefully at Calgary South Health Campus on June 12, 2017 at the age of 97 years. She leaves to mourn, granddaughter Venessa (Brady); great-grandchildren Kinsley and Aubrey; daughter-in-law Kathy; sister-in-law Margaret Ann Mantz; and brother-in-law Dan Enslen. She was predeceased by her husband Jack, her son Dale, her grandsons Justin and Matthew, her sisters Viola, Violet, Ruth, and her brother Art.
Alice was born in Medicine Hat, AB and raised in Hilda, AB where her father owned the E.A. Mantz Elevator Company and a hardware store. She married the love of her life Jack in 1942 and together they moved to Blackfalds, AB before moving with their son to Calgary in 1954. Alice enjoyed long walks with her husband, knitting and providing her finished product to the church who would in turn give her work to those in need, she loved crocheting, playing scrabble but most of all she loved coffee and chocolate…or was it chocolate and coffee? She was a member and past president of the local International Toastmistress club and donated her time to Telecare, a community services program.
Services are being considered for a later date.
