Our mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Alyne Frances Slater, passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2015. She is survived by her children Val (Doug), Patricia (Scott), Robert (Darlene) and Judy (Larry); her grandchildren David, Joshua, Brandie, Doug, Brooke, Lisa, Brittany and Mathew and six great grandchildren.
Alyne will be lovingly remembered by all and we will greatly miss her wry sense of humour and quick wit. She will also be remembered for her strong will and determination. She was a fighter until the very end.
Alyne was a longstanding member of the Royal Canadian Legion (Chapelhow) and spent many enjoyable Saturday afternoons there in the company of close friends.
As per Alyne's wishes, there will be no memorial service. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her name to the Salvation Army Agape Hospice, 1302 – 8 Ave NW, Calgary AB T2N 1B8. The family would like to thank everyone at Agape for their devoted and compassionate care during Alyne's time there.
