We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Gus from his hard fought battle against Pancreatic Cancer. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 25 years Judy, daughter Amy and son Chris and three furry friends Oggie, Rocky and Risky. Gus is also survived by his sister Jean Benjamin (Doug Benjamin) and nephews Chad Benjamin and Jason Benjamin and their families. His mother in-law Phyllis Olsen and father in-law Tony Olsen will also miss him. Gus was predeceased by his father Mac and mother Maysie MacDonald. He had a great love for mechanics working with heavy equipment for over 40 years. Gus was well known for being a highly skilled handyman who built many things including a playhouse and rabbit hutch for his children. He also built a trailer for the families camping spot at Carefree Resort which Gus loved as his weekend getaway for many years. The family has requested that no flowers be sent and asked that donations be made in Gus’ name to Pancreatic Cancer Canada, 2446 Bank St, Ottawa, ON K1V 1A8, Canada. A Gathering for family and friends will be announced at a later date. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family via the website www.fostersgardenchapel.ca.
