Annemarie Krause

Annemarie was born in Breslau Schlesien, Germany on March 27, 1925 and passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at the age of 92 years. Annemarie immigrated to Canada with her only son in 1963 and worked at the University of Alberta Hospital laundry department from 1965 to her retirement in 1991. She moved to Calgary to be near her son, daughter-in-law and her grandchildren that same year. Omi enjoyed many years of retirement, being closer to her family, and building very strong bonds with her adult grandchildren and only great granddaughter. In 2014, she moved to Bowview Manor where she lived out her final days in peace and contentment. Left behind to mourn her loss is her son Joe (Tara); grandchildren Brandy, Geoff (Heather), Kristen (Joe) and her favorite great-granddaughter Haleigh. She was predeceased by her father Franz, mother Maria, sister Hilda, sister Gertrude, mother-in-law Charlotte, husband Wolfgang, brother-in-law Paul and sister-in-law Liselotte. We will miss our last remaining matriarch of the family, gone but NEVER forgotten. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, 1566 Northmount Drive NW, on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at 11:00 am. Grandma will be cremated and laid to rest at a later date.
