Bertha was born in Esteli, Nicaragua. She was the third child and oldest sister of 11 siblings. She immigrated to Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada in 1988. In 2005, she moved to Calgary, Alberta, along with her daughter Candida Ferretti and family.
Bertha is lovingly remembered by her daughter Candida (Milton) Ferretti, her four grandchildren Maria (Logan) Facette, Iana (Durwin) Squair, Ian Ferretti and Eric Ferretti, and her five great grandchildren, Nash, Colt, Gus, Sloan, and Mack.
Bertha showed her love by always having a meal ready for her family when they visited. She was a gifted artist and enjoyed painting flowers, birds and landscapes. Bertha had a passion for plants and could make any plant thrive. She loved deeply and we take comfort in knowing that Mama Bertha is now at peace and surrounded by light.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at a visitation held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary, Alberta (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at 1:00 p.m.
