January 25, 1963 - March 27, 2013
Bjarne Westin, geologist, private pilot with 1000 hours PIC, and adventurer in life, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 in Calgary, AB at the age of 50 years. Bjarne was born in Senneterre, Quebec in 1963, raised in New Liskeard, ON and graduated University of Western Ontario (geology). He worked for Iamgold as Geology and Mine Exploration Superintendent at the Rosebel Gold Mine in Surinam. Bjarne resided in Calgary, AB and will be sadly missed by wife Patricia, children Morgan and Ethan, parents Nora and Bjarne, and brother Barry. In his honor, family will be participating in “Run for Your Dad” in Edmonton on Fathers Day.
