

passed away peacefully at the Rockeyview General Hospital on April 25, 2015 at the age of 94 years. Carrie was born August 18, 1920, in Edwin, Manitoba. She was the daughter of Jacob and Julianna Kubilanski. Carrie was married to Michael Sulima on November 18, 1936 after which they took up residence in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba where they raised two children. Their marriage was good, their dreams focused. During her lifetime she loved music and dancing and she played the violin, guitar and organ. Carrie came from a family that was talented and almost every member played a musical instrument. On July 28, 1970, Carrie lost her beloved Michael. She went to work at CFB Southport and then to the Lions Manor. In 1979 she moved to Calgary, Alberta where Carrie met and married Harold Drain. They enjoyed a good life; traveling, playing golf and crib as well as entertaining family and friends. Harold passed away on May 3, 1996. Carrie was also a member of the Army, Navy and Airforce Ladies Auxiliary. Carrie is survived by her daughter Loraine Sulima (Gerry Belitski), her son Lenard (Elaine) Sulima, grandchildren; Melanie (Dave) McMurray and Jeffery Sulima, great grandchildren; Joel, Nathan and Janelle. She was predeceased by her parents, all of her brother and sisters; Tina, Mary, John, Bill, Peter, Paul, Mike, Joe and Mel as well as her twins, a boy and a girl, who died at birth. Carrie will be laid to rest beside her husband Michael in Portage La Prairie at a later date. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family via the website www.fostersgardenchapel.ca.
