Settling first in Toronto, Ontario he started a family with his wife Christine before relocating to Calgary, Alberta in the early 1980s. Over the course of his career, he built housing developments all over Alberta which continue to house hundreds of Albertans today. He nurtured an interest in classical music by studying piano alongside his sons, realizing his dream of owning a grand piano, and patronizing the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra.
In retirement, he and his wife Christine travelled the world and explored newfound passions for golf, ballroom dancing, and Chinese calligraphy. He was also a devoted grandfather to his four beloved grandchildren.
For more than 40 years he swam each morning at Sir Winston Churchill pool and the Calgary Winter Club, and treasured post-swim morning coffee with his swimming buddies at the Northland McDonald’s. He was also an active participant in university alumni associations and cherished the opportunity to reconnect with former classmates and instructors at alumni events across Canada and the United States.
Casey will be dearly missed and is survived by his wife, two sons, and four grandchildren.
His family invites all who knew him to an informal, drop-in gathering to celebrate his life on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 between 10:00 am and 12:00 pm at Foster's Garden Chapel 3220 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery).
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Casey's memory may be made to The Canadian Diabetes Association, 1300 - 522 University Ave., Toronto, Ontario M5G 2R5 at diabetes.ca
