Catherine Belle McClain

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, Catherine, on March 26, 2015 after a short illness. She was born August 15, 1931 in Strome, AB and grew up in the Millarville/Turner Valley area of Alberta.

Catherine leaves to mourn her death eight siblings, her seven children, Glenis (Allen) Currie, Donna (Greg) Kemlo, Audrey (John) Third, Gary (Julie) Vickery, Janet (Kevin) Rude, Muriel Morrison and Claude Johnston; fifteen grandchildren, Alison (Mark) Erion, Brenden (Joanna) Vickery, Leigh Currie, Jay (Kim) Third), David (Zeena) Kemlo, Jesse Third, Sean (Ali) Vickery, Michael Bek, Travis Bek, Braeden Rude, Kyle Bek, Bailea Rude, Maddison Bek, Christina Johnston and Liam Morrison as well as six great-grandchildren. Catherine also leaves to mourn her extended grandchildren of her heart, Krista (Mike) Pratt and Jessica Brilz. She was predeceased by her husbands, Claude Johnston and Edward McClain, her ex-husband George Vickery, one granddaughter, Jillian Louise Kemlo, one great-grandson, Leo Gregory Erion and one son-in-law, Garry Morrison.

A Funeral Service will be held at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, 903 – 75 Ave SW (corner of Elbow Drive and 75 Ave SW) on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 2:00 p.m.

The family extends their thanks to the staff of ICU at South Health Campus for their professionalism and compassion while caring for their mother.
