

Charlie passed away peacefully on November 11, 2013 with his family at his side. He was born in Bo’ness, Scotland November 24, 1921. Charlie joined the RAF at the beginning of World War II. He and his wife Cathy immigrated to Calgary in 1948. They had three children, John, Heather and Colin. Charlie started work for Poole Construction Limited as a carpenter in 1948. He continued to work for PCL until retiring as a Vice-President in 1985.
Charlie was predeceased by his parents, John and Elizabeth, wife Cathy, brother Forbes and his sister Betty. He is survived by his beloved partner Patricia of 15 years, brothers Sandy (Judy), Jack and Gordon (Margaret), sons John (Patty) and Colin (Sandi), daughter Heather (Barry); stepchildren Colleen (Warren), Bobby (Nathalie), Stephen, Alan (Rita), grandchildren Jason (Rob), Tracy (Jason), Nicole (Tom), Karen (Joey), Robert, Michael, Laura (Alain), Christina; step-grandchildren Rayne, Morgan, Sara, Adam, Randi Lynn, Cassandra and Zachary and great grandchildren Brooke, Lucas, Paige, Jake, Owen, Noah, Kyla, Taggart, Brandon, Jordan and Brianna.
A Celebration of his life will be held at SOUTH CALGARY FUNERAL CENTRE, 12700 Macleod Trail South, (at Lake Fraser Gate) Calgary on Monday, November 18, 2013 at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Charlie’s honour directly to The Mustard Seed, 102 – 11 Ave SE, Calgary, AB T2G 0X5.
