Just found out about Colleen's passing- she was a 1985 pharmacy classmate & with our upcoming reunion- was just notified.  Did not realize she was from rural Vegreville.

Hi Dave,
Mike and I learned of the passing of Colleen last week and wanted to send you, Matt and Brad our deepest sympathies. We are so sorry we didn’t hear about this earlier, likely because of our being away over the winter.

We have many fond memories of you and Coleen from the soccer years; we always had so much fun together! She was such an incredible individual; smart, funny, and hard working. No doubt you miss her terribly.

We are thinking of you and hope you are managing ok; if you ever want to talk or go for a walk in Fish Creek, please reach out.

So sorry I was out of the country when this happened. Loved working with Colleen at Safeway/Sobeys. She was one of those people that made coming to work so enjoyable.  Loved her, can’t believe she’s gone. It breaks my heart!

To the family,  I was so sorry to hear about Colleen. I worked with her on many occasions at Safeway Pharmacy.  She will be missed by many. Time heals all wounds but she will always be in your hearts

When I first met Colleen it was obvious running was one of her passions.  Colleen would always greet us, at the beginning of our training runs, with her warm smile and enthusiasm.  She truly motivated the group and brought enjoyment to our runs.  She was fun to be with.  I will always look fondly on my shared experiences with Colleen.

Dear Dave and Family'
I was so sorry to hear about Colleen. Although it has been many years since we were teenagers, I will always remember her love for fun and her distinct giggle. It sounds like you have been able to share an incredible life together busy with family and creating memories. My sincere condolences are extended to all.

I met Colleen at run club when I moved to Calgary and she immediately made me feel welcome. She was a beautiful person, kind and caring, and you could always count on her. I was truly blessed to have her in my life.
I will remember her always and forever cherish my memories with Colleen on the trails. Colleen was my best friend and running buddy and I will truly miss her.
My thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time.

It's been a tough month.  Not that in any way you are getting used to the idea of going solo, but already it is infinitisly easier that  at the start.  And then tomorrow, it will be like a scab peeled off, and the bleeding starts all over again.  Those that come to the funeral will come to share their care and willingness to support you in the days ahead.  I've heard it said that grief is the cost of having loved.
No doubt it is a heavy load.  Grace to you cuz, as you grieve.

I’m at Colleen about 17 years ago. We met at a running clinic on a cold fall evening. We supported each other and showed up for each other for many years running together. We travelled together we played games together. Colleen was my best friend and I will miss her very much.

I am so sorry and saddened to learn of Colleen’s passing.  Colleen was already a Pharmacy Manager at the time I joined Safeway but I got to know her best when we both worked in management together for around ten years and particularly during the time that we both reported to the same boss.  When I think of her, I instantly picture her impish grin and can still hear her laugh.  She was so much fun to have as a colleague!  

While she worked hard and pursued her goals fiercely, she was also emotionally connected to her work.  She did her utmost for pharmacy teams.  I can think of many occasions where we commiserated behind a closed door about whatever difficult thing was going on at either of our desks and I so appreciated having her as a friend.  During those years a lot of memories were made and strong relationships formed in our Safeway Pharmacy family – we were blessed to have opportunities to really get to know one another and our actual families.  Colleen always talked about her kids, her mom and dad, her brother, and of course, we had the chance to get to know you, Dave, on many occasions.   

I am happy to learn that Colleen enjoyed so much during her retirement.  I am so very sad that there will not be a chance to reconnect and catch up on all of this in person.  Please accept my sincerest sympathies on your deep loss.  May Colleen’s memory be eternal.  I know that I will remember her and always appreciate the time during which she was part of my life.
