

A memorial service for Darren will be held Friday, September 19, 2025, at 2:00
PM at South Calgary Funeral Centre, 12700 Macleod Trail South, Calgary, AB
T2J7E5.
Darren was born on March 4, 1961, to Edith and Charles Heslop of Calgary.
Darren attended Lord Beaverbrook High School, SAIT and U of C where he received a Bachelor of Science (BSc) Degree in Engineering.
He worked as a Mechanical Engineer for SNC Lavalin and then Suncor until his retirement. Darren worked on many projects that provided opportunities for extensive travel to Europe, Russia and South America.
He was an avid bike rider, photographer, coin collector and was a hockey, football and NASCAR fan. Darren was Mr. Fix-it/repairman and the IT Helpdesk for family and friends. Darren biggest enjoyment was spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews.
Darren is survived by his Mother Edith Heslop (nee Rennie) of Calgary, Sister Holly Cox (Dan Schleppe) of Dawson Creek, BC, Nephew Curtis Cox (Lyndsey Fraser) of Bonanza, Alberta, Niece Kara Lavers (Chris) of Red Deer, Alberta, great niece Shae Lavers, great Nephews Manix Cox and Jake Lavers and numerous extended relatives.
He was preceded in death by his dad, Charles Heslop, great niece Claire Lavers and Godmother Elsie Harris.
Funeral services will be Friday, September 19, 2025, at 2PM, South Calgary Funeral Centre with the Reverend Bill Weaver of McDougall United Church officiating.
Darren’s urn will be interred at Mountain View Memorial Gardens at a later date.
