It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Darwin Norris Rounding passed away suddenly on August 25th, 2010 while on a bicycle adventure with Joan in the San Juan islands. Darwin was the loving husband and best friend to Joan for 39 years. His two sons Michael (Adena) and Philip (Kathryn) were the centre of his world, along with his grandson Graham. Darwin will be sorely missed by mother Eileen, sister Janis Clark, brothers-in-law Bob Clark and Bob Marks, and sister-in-law Colleen Marks, along with nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews Stephanie (Leo), Cindy, Trish, Robbie (Robynn), Josh, David, Kayla, Zach, Toby, Keegan and Allisa. We have no doubt he will also be frequently toasted by the many, many friends he loved spending time with.
A comedian, engineer and problem solver, Darwin loved nothing more than to spend time with those he cared about, whether it was biking, skiing, travelling the world or just sharing a bottle of wine. He will be fondly remembered for his never-ending willingness to help others, his generosity, his huge heart and above all his laugh. Darwin lived life to its fullest, and our only regret is that he was taken too soon.
Relatives and friends are invited to a celebration of Darwin's life at the South Calgary Funeral Centre, 12700 Macleod Trail South, on Wednesday, September 1 at 1:00pm. If friends so desire, memorial donations can be made to the United Way (600, 1202 Centre Street SE, Calgary, Alberta, T2G 5A5, 403-231-6265) or the Salvation Army (9618-101A Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta, T5H 0C7, 1-800-SAL-ARMY).
Expressions of sympathy may be left for the family in the Guest Book section found adjacent to this biography.
