Donna Mae Hansen

Donna Mae Hansen (née McLean) passed away in Calgary, Alberta on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at the age of 81. She was the beloved wife of 9 years to Russel Hansen. Donna is also survived by her three children Ross, Robbin and Heather, her grandchildren, Zachary, Greer, Molly, Justin, Connor, Zoë and Ashton as well as her great-grandchildren: Krew, Olive and Beau. She also leaves behind her brother Hugh (Butch) and sister-in-law Linda and nephews Ben and Tommy.

Donna was happiest when she was at home surrounded by her family and friends having lively conversations while enjoying great food with a diet coke in her hand. She enjoyed working on transformative decorating projects, planting out beautiful gardens or consulting on fashion questions. She had a vision of what could be and eye for style, supported by her devotion to shopping yet underscored with a value-orientation. At an early age Donna knew she loved words and books and became an avid reader and crossword puzzle enthusiast. She shared these passions with her loved ones.

Originally from Saskatoon, Donna (or Bonnie, to those who knew her then) also lived in Regina and most recently in Calgary.

As a very private person, Donna requested that no formal funeral service to take place, and as such the family she was so close to will hold a private celebration of life at a later date.
