Doris Anne Barkman

Doris is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Debra (John Hunter) and Lori Barclay and grandchildren, Paige (Travis Bean), Chelsea and Wyatt. She is also survived by her long-time friend, Jim Melville as well as several relatives in her home town of Steinbach, MB including her 102 year old mother, Agatha. Doris was predeceased by her husband, Lorne Barkman. She was a stay at home mom for 13 years, co-managed Hunter’s Hardware and Gift Store for 7 years, worked as a Canada Post Mail Handler (driving a forklift) for 20 years, and volunteered tirelessly at the Calgary Drop In Centre for 10 years.

A Memorial Service will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Monday, May 12, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta, Suite 200-119 14 Street N.W., Calgary, AB T2N 1Z6.
