Dwight is survived by his three children: Trevor, Charlene, and Tyler. He will forever be in our thoughts and be dearly missed. Dwight was predeceased in death by his wife, Rose “Marie” Dennis a year earlier his parents Bill and Kathryn, his brother Herbert “Rusty”, and his sisters Diane and Deloras.
In his younger years, Dwight worked for Custom Riggers, building broadcast towers around the Western provinces. Afterwards, he joined the City of Calgary first as a heavy-duty mechanic and then later as a foreman until he retired.
Dwight enjoyed woodworking, and built many tables, cabinets, and other furniture in his garage over the decades. Many friends and relatives have items that he gifted to them over the years. His first large project was a 5th wheel trailer that we used for many years in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s to explore the many campgrounds in Alberta and BC.
In 1977, Dwight and Marie purchased a rental property in Forest Lawn which he renovated many times over the years. Later in the 90’s, they purchased another 4-unit place in Mayland Heights which he also enjoyed working on.
In 1986, they purchased a Cabin at Pine Lake, Alberta which is still with the family today. He built an addition onto the cabin to add an additional bedroom and more space. I am sure we kids annoyed the neighbors to no end with the ATV’s, Motorbikes, and noise.
Dwight's other hobby was old cars, and he purchased an old 1947 Ford Coupe which he enjoyed working on. He replaced the engine and fixed up the interior and repainted it. He enjoyed touring the local car shows in Alberta with it.
