Earl is survived by his daughter, Sheila Simon (Stephen), son Evan Buckler and his two grandchildren who he was very proud of, Noah Simon and Nathan Simon. Earl is also survived by his sister Betty Ann Perkins and brother Richard Buckler (Ethel) along with many nieces and nephews.
Earl was predeceased by his oldest brother Robert Buckler (Donna), nephew Brian Buckler (Charlotte) and his parents Stanley and Pearl Buckler.
Earl lived his life working as a mechanic and driving fast cars till he was hit with the cruel diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis in his late 20’s.
Determined to win this battle he tried many different treatments to try to slow down the progression of the disease. In his 30’s, he had to retire as a mechanic as the symptoms continued.
Earl managed as best as he could for many years in the care of a group home and eventually moved into the Bethany Care Centre where he would spend his remaining years.
“Hurry up and wait” was the motto Earl lived by. Those words stood till the very end.
A Celebration of Life for Earl will be planned at a later date.
In memory of Earl, donations may be made directly to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada www.mscanada.ca
