Ted was born in London, England in 1930. As a child he was evacuated to Herefordshire during WWII due to bombing. Ted was heavily involved in cycling and was a member of the famous Polytechnic cycling club in England. In 1952 he met his future wife, Canadian Barbara Tosland, and moved to Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, where he worked in printing. In the 1970's he moved to a job in Alberta working in oil and gas regulation and finally retired on Vancouver Island, B.C., in 1990.
Among his many activities he loved ballroom and latin dancing. Together with Barbara, he was a professional dance teacher, mentor and award holder.
He was also a water colour artist, with his favourite subjects, being boats, lighthouses and oceans. Barbara also shared his passion for travelling and they had many trips to the United Kingdom, Europe, Caribbean and throughout Canada.
Ted was predeceased by his beloved wife, Barbara. He is lovingly remembered by his children Wendy (Tam), Peter (Beata) and Christopher (Natasha), and their grandchildren, Jakob, Sienna, Talia, Samuel and Mischa. Barbara and Ted’s legacy of full lives and adventurous spirits will live on with all of us.
Donations to Barbara's favourite charity - BC SPCA - would please Ted as well. Their dogs and cats were always a big part of the family.
