Eli Hildebrandt

Eli was born in Poland and immigrated to Canada in 1949 to Ferintosh, AB with his mother and 3 siblings. Eli and Olga were married in 1961 and had 3 children Arnie, Brenda and Lorne before moving to Calgary in 1971.

When his uncle retired, Eli bought the OK Shoe Repair and operated the business until his retirement in 1996. In their retirement, Eli and Olga enjoyed Gospel Music weekends and camping at Wilderness Village.

Eli is lovingly remembered by his wife of 64 years, Olga, daughter Brenda (Dan) and their son Joshua, as well as son Lorne (Lesley-An) with their children Dixon (Summer), Spencer (Mikayla) and Morgan (Jason), and their 7 grandchildren.

Eli is also survived by one sister Erna as well as numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and many dear friends. He is predeceased by his parents, 5 brothers, and his son Arnie.

A Visitation will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Thursday, November 27, 2025, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.

A Funeral Service will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel on Friday, November 28, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. with the Reverend Gary Taitinger officiating.

Monday, December 1, 2025, Eli will be laid to rest at Heimdal Cemetery, 24041 Township Road 490 (Glen Park Road), Leduc County.
